Planned Giving
Planned Giving
Since Urban’s founding, parents, trustees, alumni, and friends have supported Urban not only to advance the school, but to also provide for its future. Many have made gifts during their lifetime while others have chosen to provide for the Urban through a planned gift.
Planned gifts often involve making charitable gifts through your estate plans and can result in favorable financial benefits for you or your estate.
The most common type of planned gift is a bequest in your will or trust.
A bequest is a simple way to make a gift from your estate - a transfer of cash, securities, or other property made through your estate plans. You may make a bequest to Urban by including the following language in your will or trust leaving a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual of the estate after you have made bequests to your family:
“I, [name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise, and bequeath [written amount or percentage of estate] to Urban School of San Francisco (tax ID # 94-1622034), located at 1563 Page Street, San Francisco, California, 94117, for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
The Urban Legacy Society
If you have decided to include Urban in your estate plans, please let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity, make sure the purpose of your gift is understood by the school, and include you as a member of The Urban Legacy Society. Members are recognized annually in the Annual Report and are invited as a special guest to the Leadership Donor Reception held each year in October for our most generous donors.
