Grandparents & Special Friends Day 2025

The faculty, staff, and students of Urban School are thrilled to invite you to our campus for our 35th Annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day! You can expect a delightful program where you will hear from our new Head of School, Dr. Quinton P. Walker, experience an Urban class in our Performing Arts and Community Center with other grandparents and friends, share a festive lunch with your Urban student, and more!

9:00 – 9:30 am | Check-In at the Salkind Center
When you arrive, valet parking will be available for your convenience. Stop by the check-in table to pick up your name tag, and enjoy a light breakfast with pastries, coffee, and tea before the program begins.

9:30 – 9:45 am | Welcome & Virtual Tour
Hear from Head of School Quinton Walker and take a virtual tour showcasing Urban’s dynamic campus life.

10:15 – 11:30 am | Urban 101: Experience an Urban Class 
Sit in on a class taught by Urban faculty member Courtney Rein for a firsthand look at what it’s like to be an Urban student!

11:50 am – 12:45 pm | Lunch with Your Urban Student
Share a delicious catered lunch with your student, take a keepsake photo together, and enjoy this special time on campus.

VALET PARKING 

Complimentary valet parking will begin at 8:45 am at Urban’s Salkind Center, located at 1639 Oak Street. Please use caution on Oak Street when exiting your car for the valet.

PICKUP AND DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS 

During the busy morning rush and afternoon pickups, we kindly suggest finding a spot a little farther from campus to drop off or pick up your guests, if they’re able to walk a short distance. We also ask that you please avoid stopping on Oak Street.
