Tech Support at Urban

Tech Support, a group of faculty, staff and students, helps The Urban School community understand and take advantage of available technologies. Our mission is to make sure that technology doesn't byte!

More specifically, we offer several levels of support:

Help Desk
During the school day, Seth, our Instructional Technology Support Specialist, provides immediate support to everyone on campus. Seth is located in the Tech Office on the second floor.

Tech Café
Every Tuesday and Wednesday during lunch, in the Moon Room, we offer support sessions, demos and technology-related activities. Tech Café will be led by Tech Support students and staff. Some of the topics may focus on:

  • specific computer and mobile applications
  • support for class projects
  • how to manage the use of your technology.

Evening Online Support
Evenings before school days, typically Sunday through Thursday, Tech Support student members respond to questions posted by the Urban community via email. When support is needed beyond email correspondence, members of the Urban community can share their screen with our Tech Support team via our Quick Support screen sharing application. 

Web-Based Support
In addition to our help desk, we offer helpful materials on the following platforms:

Tech Blog - Our Urban Tech Support blog will address issues of technology in education and at Urban.

Vimeo - Videos related to technology usage at Urban will be posted by our Tech Support Team.

Stacie Muñoz - Director of Educational Technology

Stacie is responsible for the overall technology program. She determines purchases, works with the faculty, and seeks ways to best integrate technology to support teaching and learning. Contact Stacie with any programmatic inquiries.

Igor Zagatsky - Director of Information Services

Igor is in charge of all installations, maintenance, repairs and a host of related issues. Igor maintains the network infrastructure and provides a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise on most everything related to our equipment and software. If you have a highly technical question, please contact Igor directly.

Seth Snyder - Technology Support Specialist

Seth is the first point of contact for all students in the laptop program. He coordinates group learning, helps troubleshoot user issues, and communicates technical bulletins to students. Students should direct all their initial questions to Seth.

The Tech Office is available to help students throughout the day, but we encourage drop-in visits during lunch.

Tech Support email is the destination for current students and faculty to field questions and to report technical problems. Several knowledgeable students read and respond to questions, as well as Seth, Stacie and Igor.
