Pls RSVP for this Urban 101.
Urban 101 for Parents, featuring Voices of Incarceration, with English teacher Courtney Rein. This new multidisciplinary course addresses the problem of "attention violence," describing how we turn our eyes away from the experiences of people who need it most. We'll look at a few first-person narratives from those directly impacted by the criminal legal system, as we seek to understand our own assumptions and blind spots. We'll investigate the lived experience of incarceration in order to understand the impact of policies, practices, and beliefs that undergird the larger system.
This event will have parking available in any space in the Salkind Center parking garage EXCEPT the green spaces on the lower level that say "St. Agnes Parking 24hours/day, 7 days per week." If garage door is not open, please push the call button for assistance.
