Welcome to Blues House
A Member of Bay Counties League-West
The Urban Blues comprise 26 competitive and league-winning teams playing across three seasons. More than 65% of Urban students play interscholastic sports each year – a testament to the importance of athletics as part of Urban’s overall educational program.
Urban Athletics' intent is to provide an experience where students develop a passion for their sport. The program is designed to promote and affirm the ideals of respect, discipline, integrity, commitment, physical fitness, sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork, while engaging students fully in mind and body.
Urban also offers a range of physical activity classes. The course options stem from Urban’s commitment to instill in students the habits and life-long benefits of maintaining a physically active lifestyle, and honors the diversity of interests and abilities of our students. Classes such as yoga, futsal and rock climbing satisfy the state requirement of eight physical education credits during high school. Students may also participate in an approved outside sport (crew, martial arts, etc.) and receive physical activity credits.
Spectators are welcome to attend any outdoor venue games and matches. At this time, outdoor athletic events do not require masking. Only players’ household members or current students and faculty/staff may attend indoor games in the Salkind Center, and all household members aged 12 and older must provide proof of vaccination. Masks are required of everyone at all times while on campus.
