Coach Torres has been coaching at Urban for the past seven years, covering various sports from softball to flag football.
Born and raised in San Francisco to immigrant Peruvian parents, Coach Torres attended St. Paul Catholic School and later Saint Ignatius High School. He received a college football scholarship and played for the University of Saint Thomas, MN.
After graduating with a pre-med biology degree, Coach Torres worked in the biotech industry for five years before venturing into life coaching and athlete development through his own businesses. He also co-founded
“Pathways to Medicine,” offering pre-med courses to students in grades 6-12. Currently, Coach Torres serves as the head strength coach, and head flag football coach, and head softball coach at Urban. In addition, he is the outreach director for the nonprofit Sickle Cell Anemia Awareness of San Francisco (SCAASF).
Passionate about coaching talented athletes, Coach Torres eagerly anticipates each football season, regardless of whether it involves pads or not.
