AnnaLee McGregor started coaching at Urban in 2013. She holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USATF Level 1 Coach. During her college years at UC San Diego, AnnaLee competed in track and field, specializing in the 400m. She also participated in one year of Indoor Track at San Francisco State, where her interest in training for combined events developed. Her experience in the decathlon, consisting of ten events, has enhanced her ability to coach student-athletes effectively. As a coach, AnnaLee's objective is to instill the values of hard work, resilience, and the sense of camaraderie that sports can provide. Sarah Jane Underwood (SJ) began coaching cross country and track at Urban in 2020. With a specialty in middle-distance running, she was a high school standout and went on to compete at the collegiate level, earning a partial track scholarship to Penn State. In college, SJ overcame a long-standing injury igniting a deep interest in movement and running mechanics. She varsity lettered, scored in the D1 NCAA Cross Country Championships (2013), and finished 4th in the 800 m at the Big Ten Track & Field Championships during her senior year (2016). Sarah Jane continues to compete and trains with the City Speed SF Track Club. Her coaching style highlights the parallels between running and life to reframe challenges, have fun, and build resiliency. Above all, SJ is driven by her love for coaching and her desire to help athletes explore their full potential, fostering growth and development on and off the track. | |
Sabrina has been a fan of the sport for a long time. She ran Cross Country (XC) and Track & Field throughout high school before continuing on to run XC/Track at Occidental College. In college, Sabrina joined the All-Times list for the 3000 m, qualified for NCAA DIII XC Nationals, received multiple All-Region awards, and was captain of both teams as a senior (class of 2020). During her senior year she led the women's Cross Country team to their best season in Occidental College history, and loved being able to help the younger girls on the team, both on and off the course. Since graduating she has continued to run, and happily joined the Impalas Racing Team after moving to San Francisco. Her enthusiasm is very high, and she is excited to work with the Urban runners and make an impact on the sport that she loves. |
