I am a San Diego native with a passion for learning, teaching and soccer. I hold a bachelor’s of science in Kinesiology with a concentration in exercise and movement with an emphasis in neuromuscular science. I played collegiate soccer for San Francisco State, and during my last year there, I joined the men's soccer team as a volunteer assistant coach. This experience gave me a different perspective of seeing soccer through a coach's lens and ignited my passion to learn more about player development. In Manchester, England, I completed the NSCAA course Long Term Youth Development License taught by Rene Mulensteen of Manchester United. After taking this course and seeing firsthand how players in the youth system break into the pros, I decided to make being a coach my career.
I obtained an Advance National Diploma from the NSCAA and hold a certificate of academy training methods from TOVO. I have completed all La Liga methodology certificates (Level 1-3).
I started coaching at San Francisco State University in 2012. I then moved back to San Diego and coached for a volunteer-based club, San Marcos Revolution. In 2015, I moved back to San Francisco and joined the SF Glens as the technical director of both the boys' and girls' sides. I then transitioned to become the rec and micro director of San Francisco Glens Evolution. I have coached for Lincoln High school boys varsity as an assistant and have also coached at Sacred Heart Cathedral girls program for several years, most recently helping out with the varsity girls program.
I want to give back to the community and impact players in a positive way that will help them in the future. Soccer has taught me a lot about discipline and hard work. Lessons students learn on the field can also help them off the field. I want to help build a team at Urban where team members support one another and help each other become their best selves.
