Sam Littlejohn began coaching softball at Urban in 2018. Sam also teaches Science at Urban and works with the school’s Green Team. She has been playing softball for the past twenty years, starting by playing baseball in Little League before eventually moving to fast-pitch softball. Her love of the game led her to play softball at Wellesley College, where she was named an NFCA Academic All American from 2006-08. Sam also played soccer collegiately, and began her Urban coaching career as the girls’ varsity soccer assistant coach.
Sam views the playing field as an extension of the classroom. She enjoys the opportunity to help students develop skills like leadership, teamwork and integrity, as a sports coach and as a teacher.
