CLASSES WITHOUT QUIZZES:
Last Chance or Timely Reprieve? Where Do We Stand on Climate Change in 2018?
Hot off the recent Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco last month, Greg Dalton (Kai '18) and Geoff Ruth will discuss the most critical elements of today’s climate change emergency at Urban’s All-Alumni Reunion Classes Without Quizzes. We invite all alumni, former faculty and faculty to come listen and ask questions at this uniquely Urban-style event.
A journalist and founder/host of Climate One at The Commonwealth Club, Greg’s weekly radio program and in-person events engage national and international leaders in compelling conversations about slowing climate change, building a sustainable economy, and moving forward during this critical time of human life on Earth.
Urban Academic Dean and science teacher Geoff Ruth has long been involved in environmental education efforts. From his work as an earth science teacher, to creating and mentoring the student Green Team, to ensuring sustainable practices on our campus, Geoff’s commitment to living and leading an environmentally conscious life defines his many years as an Urban educator and faculty member.
Join us for this fascinating conversation with Greg and Geoff. You’ll leave Classes Without Quizzes with a greater understanding of our mutual future on Earth!
5 - 7 pm
Page Campus Old Library, 3rd Floor
Following the round robin basketball tournament and Classes Without Quizzes, all alums, faculty, former faculty and your guests are invited to a festive reception in the Page Campus Old Library. Enjoy live music and delicious food and drink with old and new Urban friends and family.
At 6 pm, there will be a special tribute to alumni and Head of School Mark Salkind (‘70) to honor his forthcoming retirement in June 2019.
