Dear 8th Grade Students and Families:

Welcome to Urban and thank you for your interest in our school! We are delighted that you are considering Urban School in your high school search. Urban believes there is a better way to educate high school students. For more than 50 years, our educational innovations have ignited the minds of Urban graduates, who pursue their passion for learning at the nation’s best colleges, and who go out into the world uniquely equipped to solve the challenges this generation will face.

Urban teaches students how to think, not what to think.

Urban teaches students how to think, not what to think. We seek students with an enthusiastic approach to learning and a clear capacity for success in a rigorous academic program. Urban’s extraordinary teachers challenge our 420 students with a college preparatory curriculum in math, science, arts and humanities with comprehensive service learning and competitive athletics programs, and a rich selection of co-curricular activities.

We have truly enjoyed getting to know you over the past few months and appreciate the time you spent with Urban. We hope that you are enjoying your last few months of middle school. If you are still interested in experiencing our community, we invite you to join us at any of our athletic events, musical concerts or drama performances. If you have any questions about Urban or the admissions process, please feel free to contact us. Admissions decisions will be posted on your Ravenna-Hub account at 4 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019. Please note that at this time, all event scheduling is closed and we are no longer accepting incoming Freshmen applications.

If you are an interested 7th grader, the first step in our admissions process is to create a Ravenna-Hub account and profile. You will be able to explore Urban and schedule events and visits on our campus beginning mid-August 2019. We will host student visits mid-September through mid-January, as well as Open Houses, optional interviews and parent information sessions starting in October 2019. We hope that you choose to take advantage of these opportunities to come experience Urban next fall!

Again, thank you for giving us the pleasure of getting to know your family. We wish you a wonderful spring!
