Dear 8th Graders and Families:
 
We are delighted that you are considering The Urban School of San Francisco in your high school search. This is an exciting time for Urban, as we begin our 44th year of innovative education. We hope that after reviewing our website, you'll be eager to learn more about the Urban experience.

As you begin your 8th grade year, the excitement of applying to high school can manifest itself in a variety of ways: anxiety, eagerness, intimidation and happiness. However you experience the journey, we will be with you every step of the way to make sure your path is straightforward and enjoyable as we get to know each other over the next few months.

The best way to familiarize yourself with Urban is to visit and see the school firsthand. We will host three Open Houses for prospective students and their parents/guardians, and we encourage every student to attend a half- or full-day shadow visit, during which you will observe classes and tour our beautiful campus in the Haight-Ashbury. We also offer optional interviews that are scheduled on a different day from your shadow visit.

Additionally, we invite all 8th grade parents/guardians to attend one of our optional Parent Information Sessions. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to speak with an admissions representative, observe a school day in action and tour the campus with a current Urban parent. In addition to these events hosted by our admissions office, we invite you to attend any of our athletic events, musical concerts or drama performances.
