Welcome to Urban!

Dear Rising 8th Graders and Families:

We are delighted that you are considering The Urban School of San Francisco in your high school search. We hope that after reviewing our website, including A Day at Urban, you will want to learn more about the Urban experience.

The process of applying to high schools is involved and can seem overwhelming at times, so it’s important to take it one step at a time!  The spring and summer before your eighth grade year is a great time to step back and get a broad perspective before diving into all the many details you will encounter in the fall.

This summer, we encourage you to begin familiarizing yourself with the websites of the various schools you are interested in and getting a general sense of how the process will work.  Our process begins in August.  At that time, you will be able to complete an online inquiry and receive an application packet from us.  Starting in early September, you will be able to begin scheduling opportunities to come and visit Urban.  We will be hosting Open Houses and student visits, as well as optional interviews and parent information sessions starting in October, and we hope that you choose to take advantage of these opportunities to get to know Urban.

If you wish to inquire about the upcoming 2013-14 school year, please note that enrollment is now full and we are no longer accepting applications.

To inquire about Urban for 2014-15 and receive more information on our process, application dates and school calendar, please return to this Admissions section of our website in August. We hope you have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to guiding you and your family through this exciting process in the fall!

Sincerely,

CURRICULUM AND LEADERSHIP - GREAT CHOICES
by Michael F ('15)
It is the first week of spring term so I am just getting adjusted to my new classes. I still, however, have the feeling of relief that I gained from finishing finals a couple weeks ago. Last term was my most difficult, with four solids, but looking back on it I am proud of the work I did. In Recent America, every student chooses ...read more
