Applying to Urban Step-by-Step
Thank you for your interest in The Urban School of San Francisco. Enrollment for the 2013-14 school year is now closed.
If you are interested in learning more about Urban for the 2014-15 school year, the following steps briefly outline our application process. Please check back with us in August for more details on applying to Urban, important dates and other information.
1. Fill out Online Inquiry
In order to receive our admissions inquiry packet you will fill out our online inquiry form, which will be available on our website in mid-August. We only accept inquiries from 8th grade families. We ask that interested transfer applicants please contact our office at 415 593 9555 or email us at email@example.com.
2. Register for the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test)
Urban requires all applicants for ninth grade to submit their results from the SSAT. The SSAT should be taken during eighth grade in October, November or December 2013, or January 2014. Scores must be sent directly from SSAT to The Urban School of San Francisco's Admissions Office. Designate Urban (school code 7861) as a score recipient on the SSAT registration form.

For consistency between all ninth grade applicants, Urban strongly prefers the SSAT, however we will accept scores from the HSPT or the ISEE.
3. Make reservations for events using the Apply/Schedule Online module
After you have completed the online inquiry, starting in early September, you will be able to register for an Open House, a student visit, an optional interview and parent information session. Only eighth grade families will be allowed to schedule events. We ask that interested transfer students contact our office at 415 593 9555 or via email.
After you have had a chance to visit Urban and learn more about the school, you will decide if Urban would be a good fit for you and if you want to apply. You will be able to apply using the paper application that you will receive in your inquiry packet or by using our online application. The application materials consist of a student application, a parent/guardian form, a principal or school counselor recommendation, teacher recommendations and current and past year transcripts.
