Student Life = Collaboration, Inclusion and Mutual Respect

At Urban, we believe that high school is an important experience in its own right, not merely a stepping stone to college. We provide opportunities for all students to discover and engage their passions both inside and outside the classroom. Through strong relationships with their teachers and with each other, Urban students learn early on how to navigate a culture of collaboration, inclusion and mutual respect.

Urban fosters these qualities everywhere: in the classroom, in our award-winning service learning program, in the co-curricular program and through our active interscholastic sports teams. We see all students as potential leaders who, when challenged to become involved, can make a difference in their community. We support their development by creating small advising groups with a faculty member who serves as liaison between student, school and family.

We provide students with myriad opportunities to put their skills, interests and enthusiasm into practice. In addition to our diverse academic curriculum, Urban offers a breadth of co-curricular opportunities, including clubs, student government, and outdoor and class trips.
