College Counseling 

Welcome! Attending college is a continuation of many years of exploring new ideas, being challenged, working hard, making friends, growing up and getting to know oneself a little bit better. At The Urban School, we hope that the college admissions process, like the high school years at Urban, is one of self-discovery and an experience unique to each student.

The College Counselors at The Urban School will work closely with students and parents to guide you through the admissions process. We will provide information and reminders, hold group meetings for parents and students, bring college admissions representatives to campus, and maintain relationships with colleges throughout the country. Most importantly, we will get to know and work closely with each student and family.

In partnership with parents, we assist students in identifying, applying and making decisions about college. Our objective is to ensure that each individual has the confidence and independence to choose the college or university that best matches his/her goals, aspirations and talents. Each year, Urban seniors are accepted to a variety of schools, including highly selective colleges and universities, as well as specialized schools for those gifted in visual and performing arts.
