We're looking forward to our annual Fall Service Day on Friday, September 14, 2012. The full day of volunteer work at organizations around the Bay Area for students faculty and staff has been a hallmark of Urban for many decades now. In addition to our integrated all-grades service learning program throughout the year, our 9th, 10th and 11th graders take a full day each fall to work in a variety of locations. Seniors will spend the day with Urban college counselors prepping essays, apps, etc.
This year, we're pleased to be working at Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Chapparal House in Berkeley, Habitat for Humanity in San Carlos, Lake Merrit in Oakland, Thousand Oaks Elementary School in Berkeley, the annual American Heart Association Heart Walk in San Francisco (the entire sophomore class!), and the Chinese Immersion School at D'Avila Elementary in San Francisco.
