Please join our student musicians on Sunday, April 30, at 5 pm, at the Herbst Theater at 401 Van Ness Venue, for the annual Urban Spring Music Concert! General admission is $5 at the door.
The Chamber Orchestra will perform music of the Romantic era featuring three soloists on violin, piano and cello. The Orchestra is directed by Tess Varley.
Under the direction of Brooke Steele, the Urban Singers program includes contemporary numbers, with music in French, Swahili and English with a wailing soprano solo.
The Lab Jazz Band will perform music emphasizing the groove with Latin funk and a jazz march written by Thelonius Monk. David Boyce directs.
The Advanced Jazz Band, with director and Urban Performing Arts Chair Scott Foster, will feature professional arrangements by Oliver Nelson, Gil Evans and Billy Strayhorn.
