Here is the current, anticipated timeline:

• Site Permit Issued for PACC: August 2022  - COMPLETED
• Mobilization and Abatement: Post-Thanksgiving, 2022 – December 2022  - COMPLETED
• Demolition of North Addition: March 2023 – April 2023
• Shoring and Excavation: February 2023 – June 2023
• New Construction and Interior Construction: June 2023 – July 2024
• Site Work – Perimeter Site Development: March 2024 – July 2024
• Anticipated Project Completion: August 2024 September 2024

No, and there are no future plans to expand the campus. 

Cahill anticipates construction hours from 7 am until approximately 4 pm, although they are committed to postponing demolition or other particularly noisy work until 8 am.

While much of the work will take place inside the existing structure, other aspects of the work will be loud, particularly the demolition of the gym’s rear addition and of removal of existing walkways and stairs to create the ADA pathways.

Yes. There will be a regular update email from Cahill construction to neighbors that will also be available on this webpage.

Materials will be delivered on Page Street, but trucks will not linger beyond the delivery window. There will be no material storage or storage units on Page Street.

No. By contract, they are not allowed to park on the block. Violations will be dealt with quickly by the site manager.

No, the project will have no long-term impact on the number of parking spaces on Page Street. During construction, there will likely be 3-4 fewer spaces to avoid trucks double parking during deliveries. The Bike Share station has also been moved back to its original location, opening a number of additional spaces on Page.

Yes. The school hopes to extend use selectively as its own programming schedule allows and with consideration of the potential impact on the neighborhood in terms of parking and/or noise.

The Salkind Center garage is a shared space with St. Agnes. Depending on the hours and occupancy request of the outside group, we will strive to balance the parking needs of Urban, St. Agnes, and the outside group.

These will be secondary pathways with low use relative to the primary ADA pathway on the east side of the building.  

Yes. There is significant privacy fencing well above eye level that will block visual access to the backyards.

Yes. We will have a gate and restricted access system similar to the existing east pathway pictured below. During construction there will be 24-hour camera surveillance and a barrier to restrict access to the west pathway.

We wanted to let you know that Cahill Construction has slightly adjusted the timing for when they expect the greatest noise disruption; it’s now slated to begin on February 27th or so, with an anticipated completion date in the third week of March.

Hello Neighbors,

We wanted to provide a few recent updates to the schedule for the first couple of months of the Performing Arts and Community Center project:

• Construction will begin a bit later – now January 15th or so.
• The first month or so of work will be demolition on the interior of the old gym.
• The demolition of the rear addition to the gym will begin closer to February 15th and will take between 4-6 weeks.
