Thank you to our fellow alums who have donated to Urban in the 2012-13 school year! We are delighted to share that we reached a NEW RECORD with more than 220 alums making gifts to the Annual Fund, Endowment and Class Funds. This is a wonderful demonstration to our current students and larger community of the value our alums place on an Urban education. Thank you for your support.

If you are interested in making a gift to Urban's 2013-14 Annual Fund please click here. For alums in the Classes of 2009 - 2013, click here to make or renew a gift to your Class Endowment Fund. Thank you!

Cris Beam ('90) has written a powerful book on America's foster care system. The New York Times Book Review called it "a triumph of narrative reporting and storytelling, as well as a thorough and nuanced analysis of an American institution deeply in need of reform." To read more about this book and others check out her website.

Erin Berg ('08) and associates have founded Kipper Clothiers, a custom shirting and suiting business in San Francisco. Kipper Clothiers provides premium quality clothing and reliable customer service specifically aimed towards the LGBT community. To find out more go to their website: kipperclothiers.com.

Sam Reider ('07), member of The Amigos Band, will be doing a six-week tour overseas. In addition to performing, they will be leading workshops and doing educational work. This fantastic opportunity is sponsored by US State Department through the American Music Abroad Exchange Program. Over the past year, Sam and the Amigos have appeared everywhere from Lincoln Center in New York, to Music City Roots in Nashville, to the Philadelphia Folk Festival. They are hard at work on their debut full-length album and will be making some appearances in the Bay Area in December!

Congratulations to Gypsy Snider ('88) for her Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography for her circus creation in the Tony-winning Pippin revival! Pippin will be at the Golden Gate Theatre in Fall 2014! Tickets go on sale in late 2013. Check it out here.

Andrea Shippy ('86) and her band, the Bad Sugar Daddies, have an upcoming show at the Connecticut Yankee on Saturday, October 12, at 10 p.m.. Check out her website Andreashippy.com for details.
