On the Road With Cal Studies
This year's theme is transportation. Special thanks to Urban alums Peter Kasin ('71), Kenny Howell ('79), Egon Terplan ('92) and Jared Dowell ('99) who have given students a broader historical perspective on transportation and urban planning, plus some really cool tours. Check out the Cal Studies blog.
Alumni vs Varsity Soccer Game and Picnic
From Varsity Soccer Coach Antony Reyes: Our 3rd annual coed Alumni vs Student Soccer Game will be held on Saturday, June 1, at Kimbell Field at Geary and Steiner. All alums (regardless of skill level) are invited to come play a friendly game against some of their alma mater's most talented athletes on the current boys' and girls' varsity soccer teams. The game will start at 11:30 a.m. (meet at 11 for warmup), followed by a food truck picnic sponsored by Urban's Alumni Council. It's going to be a blast and we need both players and fans! Cick here to RSVP. We hope you can join us.
Alumni Survey Thanks
Thank you to the 200+ alums who completed our alumni survey. Your feedback is truly appreciated. We are analyzing the results which will be available to you in our fall edition of BluesNotes.
Farewell to Urban Faculty and Staff!
Congratulations to Henri Picciotto and Susan Munn on their much-deserved retirements! Henri has been a math teacher since 1981 and Susan has been Urban's Director of Finance and Operations since 1991. Henri's son Neil graduated from Urban in 1993, and Susan's daughters Abigail and Elizabeth graduated in 1997 and 1999, respectively. We also want to share that Algis Sodonis, science faculty since 2001, is leaving to pursue a career in nursing, and Larissa Parson, English instructor since 2008, is moving with her family to the East Coast. Suzanne Schutte ('73), College Counselor since 2002, is also leaving to spend more time with Gateway High School. We wish Henri, Susan, Algis, Larissa and Suzanne all the best in their new adventures. If you would like to wish them well, please email us and we will be sure to share!

Send Us Your Class Notes!
Have you started a new job or business venture? Did your family grow (i.e. new baby, wife, husband, pet, etc.)? Have you been traveling to interesting places? Bumped into a fellow alum or one of our teachers? Let us know what you've been up to by submitting your class notes via email. Accompanying photos are always welcome and encouraged too.

Thank you to our fellow alums who have donated to Urban this year. As of today, 150 alums have contributed and our goal is to reach 250 by June 30. We hope you will join with us to increase our participation! Special thanks to Bradley Wollack ('96) for sharing why he continues to give back to Urban:

I donate to Urban because it remains the most influential educational experience of my life. I want future students to realize what I did the first time I set foot in a college classroom -- I was better prepared than 99% of my classmates.  But the preparation didn't stop there.  Urban celebrated my individuality and encouraged me to speak my mind -- two vital attributes that have helped define me professionally as a comedian and writer.
